Terms of use

The terms that apply when you use Tapelab.

Version 1.0 · Effective 27 October 2026

1. Who we are

Tapelab (tapelab.io) is run by Tapelab Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 17415126), registered office: 11 Bradfield Way, Rotherham, S60 8WE, United Kingdom. You can contact us at hello@tapelab.io.

These terms apply to your use of tapelab.io and its pages, tools and data ("the service"). By creating an account or using the service you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

2. Not investment advice

Tapelab provides market data, charts, screens and research for information and education only.

  • Nothing on Tapelab is investment advice, a personal recommendation, or an offer or invitation to buy or sell any investment. We do not take your circumstances, goals or attitude to risk into account.
  • Tapelab Ltd is not authorised or regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority to give investment advice.
  • Investing and trading carry risk, and you can lose some or all of your money. Past performance, backtests and historical statistics do not predict future results.
  • You make your own decisions and you are responsible for them. Consider getting advice from an authorised adviser before you invest.

3. Data and availability

  • Our data comes from third-party and public sources and from our own calculations. It may be delayed, incomplete or wrong, and it can change without notice.
  • We work to keep the service accurate and available, but we do not guarantee either. We may change, pause or remove any part of the service at any time.
  • Do not rely on Tapelab as your only source for any decision.

4. Your account

  • You must be 18 or over to create an account.
  • One account per person. Give accurate details and keep access to your email and sign-in methods secure. You are responsible for activity on your account.
  • Some features depend on your account level. We decide what each level includes and may change it; we will tell you before a change that reduces what you have paid for.
  • You can close your account at any time.

5. Acceptable use

You may use the service for your own personal research. You must not:

  • copy, resell, redistribute or publish our data or content in bulk, or use it to build a competing product;
  • scrape the site, or access it with bots or automated tools, other than through an API we provide for that purpose and under its terms;
  • get around access controls, view limits or account levels, or share an account;
  • break the law, or interfere with the service or other users.

Sharing a link, a screenshot or a short quote with credit to Tapelab is fine.

We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms.

6. Our content

The service, its design, text, charts, data compilations and software belong to Tapelab Ltd or its licensors. Using the service does not give you any ownership of them.

8. Our responsibility to you

  • We are not responsible for any investment or trading decision you make, or for any loss, including trading losses or lost profit, that comes from using or relying on the service.
  • We are not responsible for losses caused by the service being unavailable, slow or interrupted, or by data being delayed.
  • If we are found responsible for a loss, our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or £100 if you have paid nothing.
  • Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that the law does not allow us to limit. If you are a consumer, your legal rights are not affected.

9. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We will show the new version and its date on this page, and tell signed-in users about significant changes. If you keep using the service after a change takes effect, the new terms apply.

10. Law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you may also bring proceedings in your local courts.
